  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of baking powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of MSG (optional)
For the spicy soy garlic glaze
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp of gojuchang (Korean chilli paste, u can find in Korean Market hehe)
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 40ml of water
  • 1-inch ginger, peeled and shredded
  • White sesame seeds for garnish (but sadly I didn't have white sesame seeds at home :[ )
Cooking Steps :
  1. Pat dry the chicken wings, then season it with salt, pepper, and msg. Mix the corn starch with baking powder in a shallow bowl. Dip seasoned chicken wings into the beaten egg then coat the chicken wings with corn starch. Deep fry until cooked all the way through. Remove then transfer to paper towels.
  2. To make the spicy soy garlic glaze; Combine garlic, soysauce, brown sugar and ginger in a saucepan. Place over low heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the gojuchang and the water, stir and wait until it thickens.
  3. Fry again the chicken wings (It needs double fried), place on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
  4. Toss the chicken wings in spicy garlic soy glaze. Sprinkle the sesame seeds before serving, and it's done. : )
